AI Compared is an editorial catalog of AI tools. We review chatbots, image and video generators, voice and music tools, avatar and presentation builders, coding assistants and productivity apps, and present them in the same format so you can compare them quickly.
The catalog currently covers 48 tools in 8 categories. Each card lists what the tool does, its main features, pros and cons, the starting price, whether there is a free plan, and an editorial score out of 5.
Who We Are
AI Compared is an independent project run by aicompared. We are not affiliated with any of the vendors we review unless a card says otherwise.
Our Editorial Approach
- One template for every tool. Each card follows the same structure: what it is, key features, who it is for, pros, cons, pricing and score. This makes cards comparable across categories.
- Official sources first. Facts about plans, limits and features come from the vendor’s own website, documentation and pricing pages. We do not copy claims from other review sites.
- Plain language. We describe what a tool does and where its limits are. We avoid marketing claims we cannot check.
- Independent scores. Vendors cannot pay for a listing, a higher score or a better position. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be labeled as such.
- Affiliate links do not affect reviews. Some outbound links may become affiliate links. A commission never changes a score or a ranking. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
How Ratings Are Produced
Each tool gets a score out of 5, shown with two decimals. We score five criteria:
- Core output quality – how well the tool does the job it is sold for: answers, images, video, voice, code or documents.
- Features and limits – what each plan includes, usage caps, supported formats and integrations.
- Pricing and value – free tier, starting price, billing terms, overage costs and what the entry plan really allows.
- Ease of use – onboarding, interface, platforms (web, desktop, mobile, API) and documentation.
- Trust and policies – commercial-use rights, data handling, consent safeguards (for voice and avatar tools) and how clearly the vendor states its limits.
The editor combines these into one score and compares it with other tools in the same category so that scores are consistent. Details are on our How We Rate page.
How Prices Are Verified
- We take prices from the vendor’s official pricing page, never from resellers or third-party lists.
- “Starting price” means the cheapest paid plan for an individual, in USD, as shown on the vendor’s site. Team and enterprise plans are mentioned in the pricing notes when relevant.
- If a price is only available in another currency, varies by country, or depends on a promotion, we write “see website” and explain why in the pricing notes.
- A time-limited trial is not counted as a free plan.
- Every price is dated. The current catalog was prepared in November 2026.
Prices can change at any time. Always confirm the price on the vendor’s site before you buy.
Update Policy
- We review prices and plans on a regular schedule, regularly, and sooner when a vendor announces a change.
- When a product is renamed, we keep the familiar name in the card and add the new one, for example “Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf)”.
- When a product is shut down or stops accepting new customers, we remove it from the catalog or mark it clearly.
- Readers can report outdated information by email. We review every report.
