Founded in 2022, Suno builds generative models that turn a short text prompt or a set of custom lyrics into a finished song with vocals, arrangement, and production. The company says more than 100 million people have made music with it, and the service runs in the browser as well as in iOS and Android apps.
The current v6 model generation was developed with industry partners including Warner Music Group, BMG, and Believe. Paid plans add stem separation, Personas and Voices for keeping a consistent vocal identity, recording or uploading your own voice, and custom models. Premier subscribers also get Suno Studio, a browser workstation with MIDI, effects, automation, and longer audio uploads of up to 30 minutes. Under the current terms, downloads are tied to the plan: Pro includes 20 song downloads a month, Premier includes 60, and free accounts only receive a small allowance of trial downloads for personal use. Songs remain playable and shareable on every tier.
Songwriters sketching demos, hobbyists, and creators who need original tracks with sung vocals will get the most from it, since few rivals match its vocal realism and genre range. The free plan is useful for testing prompts with 50 daily credits, but it has no commercial rights and no regular downloads. Anyone planning to release or monetize music should budget for a paid plan and read the terms of service on commercial use before publishing.
